Outside
the professional realm, I am a wife and mother. My four-year-old,
Nathan,
is a constant reminder of how important it is to maintain a healthy
imagination, to dream, and to keep things in
perspective. It would be foolish to reinvent the wheel, however,
sometimes wheels get stuck in a rut and one needs to adjust
appropriately. Language, both visual and verbal, is extremely interesting
to me. I am a crossword aficionado, a punster, and fascinated
by the layers of
meaning and interpretations embodied within all forms of language.
I spent a year in Siena, Italy teaching English and immersing myself
in the study of Italian
language and culture. In addition, I was
a dancer in Ballerini
Italiani, an Italian Folk Dance Ensemble in
Berks county, for many years. I welcome the opportunity to come together
with others who speak Italian to chat and enjoy an espresso.
This interconnection
between the spoken, written, and visual language and how they affect
design is central to the way I work. |
